Privacy Policy

Effective May 7, 2026

Phoslog is a film photography logging app for iPhone. This policy explains what data Phoslog collects, why it collects it, and how it is stored. Phoslog does not collect personal information, does not require an account, and does not share data with third parties.

1. Data You Create

When you use Phoslog you create shooting records: rolls, exposures, and gear entries. This data is stored locally on your device only. The creator of Phoslog (Hyperfocal LLC) has no access to it.

2. Location Data

Phoslog can optionally record GPS coordinates per exposure. Location access is:

  • Optional. You may use the app without granting location access.
  • Configurable. You can enable or disable location access in your iPhone’s Settings at any time.
  • Local. GPS coordinates are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to any Hyperfocal LLC servers (there aren’t any).

Phoslog also performs reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a place name) using Apple’s MapKit framework. This request is sent to Apple’s servers, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. No data from this request is sent to Hyperfocal LLC.

3. What Phoslog Does Not Collect

Phoslog does not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Analytics, usage telemetry, or crash data sent to Hyperfocal LLC’s servers
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Any data shared with third-party advertisers or data brokers

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

Phoslog uses Apple’s In-App Purchase system for monthly and yearly subscriptions and the Lifetime one-time purchase. When you subscribe or purchase Lifetime, Apple processes the transaction. Hyperfocal LLC does not receive, store, or have access to your payment information.

Subscription receipts are validated through Apple’s StoreKit service. The validation does not involve any Hyperfocal LLC servers. These transactions are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

5. Crash Reports

If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” in your iPhone’s Privacy settings, Apple may share anonymized crash diagnostics with Hyperfocal LLC through App Store Connect. These reports do not contain personally identifying information. You can disable sharing at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

6. Data Export

All data you create in Phoslog can be exported at any time as a JSON file, regardless of subscription status. You own your data. Export is always available.

7. Data Deletion

Deleting the Phoslog app from your device removes all locally stored data.

8. Children’s Privacy

Phoslog is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

Material changes to this policy will be posted at phoslog.app/privacy with an updated effective date.
